17 - Juon: Kuroi Shoujo

Also known as: Ju-on: Black Ghost, Ju-on: Girl in Black, 呪怨: 黒い少女

Synopsis: Something is wrong with a girl named Fukie. After a series of weird events surrounding her she is taken in for testing and eventually admitted into a hospital where the events continue and the source of her curse is revealed. Like Ju-on: Shiroi Rōjo this film is am series of scenes in non-chronological order.

Year/Country: 2009, Japan

Language: Japanese

Subgenres: curse, haunting, possession, ghosts, fetus in fetu , j-horror, creepy kids

Reason for watching: Love the Ju-on movies.

Highlights: Never has a ghost under a sheet been so creepy. When Fukie grabs her father’s arm, awesome.

Lowlights: Though the story is fairly original, it feels like it’s been done.

Rewatchabilty: Maybe.

Overall review: Though, I thought Shiroi Rōjo was the stronger movie of the two. I definitely enjoyed it. The scares were the typical j-horror scares.

Note: Though originally realesed as two seperate movies on the same day, this along with Ju-on: Shiroi Rōjo are grouped together as one movie on Netflix.
