Also known as: Wasting Away
Synopsis: A group of friends in unknowingly turned into zombies. A zombie movie from the zombie’s perspective.
Year/Country: 2007, USA
Subgenres: zombies, gore, dark comedy,
Reason for watching: Found when browsing netflix.
Highlights: The premise is excellent. Loved Matthew Davis’s character and his brain eating.
Lowlights: I wasn’t really a huge fan of the switching between black/white and color to show the two different perspectives (everyone else vs zombies), it seems like there could’ve been a better way to do it. Though I did appreciate how it was kinda an homage to George A. Romero. The green for the zombie serum was kinda too cheesy for me too.
Rewatchabilty: Maybe.
Overall review: A different take on the zombie genre. While definitely a funny movie, when you think too hard about the premise it makes all zombie movies so sad. ;) It was definitely more of a fun movie than a horror movie though.
